Dave entered the financial services industry in 1987 after taking Economics and Psychology at the University of Winnipeg. Always offering independent advice, he has been a senior advisor with The Berkshire Group, Vice President of Summit Insurance Services, President of Future Financial Group, and currently an independent consultant and owner of Orca Wealth and Insurance Services, previously Family Integrity Corporation.
"The Risk Doctor", is supported by a team of administration, technical, and underwriting specialists whose teamwork and follow-through are setting new standards of service excellence in building lifetime relationships. Dave is known for coining the term "Core then explore" with regard to building a comprehensive and balanced investment portfolio or designing a sleek employee benefits package. The planning and design begin with a ten-minute "Personal Viewpoint" questionnaire.  This unique getting-to-know-each-other system will show us how to proceed. Dave has been introduced as a trusted family friend with a knack to explain important and complicated financial matters simply. He keeps it simple. After more than thirty years of serving friends and family, Dave has written a book "Selling Your Business"  Soon to be a book series. Selling your business became an Amazon #1 Best Seller in 2016. Away from business, Dave enjoys curling, golf, and travel. 

He has maintained his private pilot license since a teenager and together with his wife Heather, and dog Andrew, they have become avid sailors.
A resident of Ladysmith, Dave is past President of South Cowichan Chamber of Commerce and is a past President and Charter member of the Winnipeg St. James Rotary club, a Charter board member of Westland Foundation, and an advisor to the Cowichan Intercultural Society in Duncan British Columbia. He is currently a trustee for the Diamond Improvement District in Ladysmith B.C. and is the Treasurer for the Vancouver Island Raiders Junior Football Club.
